We Love our Volunteers!

Thanks to Ellen Courter from Bullard Elementary School and Claire Williams from McClure Middle School, who raised $200 by having mini garage sales. Here they are with our treasurer, Bill Hamblin, handing over the dough. Come out this Sunday from noon to 2 at the Buckhead Petsmart and help us add to it!

May Orphans of the Month- Bogey & Caddie

Bogey

Caddie

Bogey and Caddie are two six-week-old Great Pyrenees mix puppies. They have the brighest blue eyes you will ever see and are extremely laid back for puppies. Bogey is the boy and is distinguishable by the black spot on his back and his crooked tail. He thinks its best to sleep with either a paw or ear in his water bowl. Caddie is the girl and can be described as smart, intuitive and playful.

Check out Bogey and Caddie playing together at their foster home!

Orwell's Baby Brother

Mom's a little annoyed that I taught Wade his first word - "dog" - and he uses it 100 times a day. I mean she's glad that I'm so sweet and patient with him. And she knows how much I love to cuddle with him. She just kinda wishes that he would say "mama" one of these days.

Thanks, AGA, for rescuing me and giving me this great family to love!

Cooper (AGA Thunder) Sends a Note

Hello to my Friends at AGA,

You know me as Thunder but I am already responding to my new name Cooper. I have made great friends with Kona…..he’s a great guy! We eat together, go out together and sleep together. I can’t understand why that cat who lives here still runs from me. I am such a lovable guy! He’ll come around! My new people are great…I follow them all over.

I got my cast off and went on my first stroll of the neighborhood…..I got lots of love from the neighbors. My fur is growing back too! Things are going really well for me.

Thanks for jumping in and taking care of me before my family adopted me.

Attached is a picture of Kona & me watching the neighbors’ cat.

Licks & Paws,
Cooper

April Orphan of the Month- Sam "Sammy"

Meet Sam, known to his foster family as Sammy. He is almost 2 years old and has his AKC papers. His owner took him to a shelter and simply turned him in saying he couldn't afford to care for him. We soon found out why - Sam had heartworms and needed a sponsor to help pay for his treatment.

Sam is now cured of his heartworms (thanks to a generous donor) and is so looking forward to finding his forever home. His foster family reports that Sammy is a lover boy with lots of energy. He takes the stairs 4 at a time and loves to chase squirrels. Right now, Sammy would knock down young children and chase cats but a family with another dog and children over 10 would be great. Sammy is a smart dog and is learning his commands and has also recently learned to fetch balls and return them. He'll need a secure fence at least 5 feet tall and preferably a home where he won't be left alone for more than 4 hours (he's still a bit unsure of his new life inside a house). Sammy will provide lots of kisses to the lucky family who adopts him!

Check out video of Sam playing at his foster home!
