March Orphan of the Month - Coltrane

Meet Coltrane, our March Orphan of the Month. He is a male golden between three and four years old. He was picked up as a stray with heartworms.

Once he recovered from treatment he found his forever home. However, we soon discovered it wasn't the best home for this guy. When gates were left open, Coltrane was found wandering the neighborhood dodging cars and UPS trucks. He is now looking for a forever home with locks on the gates.

Coltrane loves meeting new people and greets visitors with a big, toothy grin and wiggles all over. He would be a great dog for an active family because he enjoys running, hiking and anything else outdoors. He doesn't mind napping next to you inside either!

Watch our video to see this beautiful golden at his foster home.

Abby (formerly Jasmine) Sends Pics

A lot has happened since AGA rescued me and found me a great home last June! Here's me in agility training. They call it "balance board" (above) and "the jump" (below).

I call it "FUN!"

A Letter from Fender

Hi Goldeners!

Last summer I was hit by a car and left to fend for myself. I also had heartworms. Someone found me and took me to AGA. They saved my life and my leg. One of the AGA volunteers met my new parents at adoption day. The family already had a golden—Marley. She's a little skittish. She needed a sibling, but it had to be just the right dog. That worked out because I needed just the right family and I love other dogs.

Our mom is a professional photographer. Marley and I work at the studio. Our job is to tell Mom when clients arrive for their appointments and to let the children pet us. We also clean up dropped crackers and pretzels. We were born for this job!

Here is a picture of Marley and me. I'm the one laying down.

Thanks for saving my life and finding my forever family, AGA!
Love,
Fender

February Orphans of the Month

Introducing our February Orphans of the Month. Holly and Noel come to us from a puppy mill. Holly is a two-year-old female golden and is somehow related to the 11-month-old female, Noel. They both have a right ear that is slightly shorter than the left and turns up at the end. It is an endearing physical trait. These girls are quickly getting comfortable to life outside of the puppy mill. They are walking on a leash, following around their foster's golden and are even beginning to enjoy playing with toys. Watch our video to see these beautiful goldens are their foster home.

Stewart's New Family!

Guess what? Another AGA dog already lives here! That's Mick on the left. And me on the right. And in the back is a weekend guest. It's pretty golden around these parts.
They say I was very close to being euthanized - I don't think that's a word I want to learn the meaning of. I'll just leave it at this: THANK YOU!!

Lollipop Doodle Checks In

For those of you who remember me as a shy, scared 4-month-old goldendoodle puppy, I wanted to let you know that I'm growing up and my life is great!! I'm getting close to my 2-year birthday and I love everyone and everything. I don't even remember those early days, although I heard it was pretty bad. Mom said I refused to come in the house when they first got me.

But, now I'm the official front door greeter. I make sure to smile and wag my tail so that whoever is out there isn't scared like I was back then.

My favorite thing to do is wake up my kids Alexandra and Benjamin each morning with a wet nose and sloppy kisses. What a great way to start the day (well, for me anyway)!

A couple of weeks ago I got to play in snow - wow! That was totally fun. I hope we get some more soon.

I hope all my AGA friends are having as much fun as me. Thanks for finding me this perfect home!
