Happy "Golden" Easter

Hi everyone!
My name is Latte and I’m one of AGA’s new orphans
You’re probably wondering, “Why is Latte writing this message?” I must tell you-- I’m very excited about Easter. I remember hearing about it, but never had the chance to celebrate. However, this Easter I’ll be celebrating in style because I finally have a “Golden future.”
Latte, the Easter Golden.
What do you think? Not too shabby for an 8-year-old! I’m ready to kiss a bunny, go on an Easter “bone” hunt and hopefully find my forever family. Woof, Woof!

I wish everyone a Happy “Golden” Easter!
Love, Latte

P.S.- Mr. Easter Bunny has not been replaced, I'm merely his apprentice. Woof! Also, I must give props to Emmie Sue, for inspiring my outfit.

It’s My Birthday and I’ll Look Adorable If I Want To

“Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday handsome Banjo, happy birthday to me!”

Hi – it’s Banjo! And yes, I am talking about myself in the third person. But it’s my Birthday and I’m the king. Actually, my birthday was yesterday, but I ate too many treats, got extra loving from my family and played a little too hard. I’m exhausted from all the birthday celebrations but I did just turn 9-years-old, so it was totally worth it.

To be honest, my birthday was pretty amazing, but I think a big reason why I’m so happy is that it’s about to be five years since the best family in the world took me into their loving home, and made me one of their own. I have never felt so cherished, protected and wanted. My past is a distant memory, let’s just say it wasn’t a good life. However, my tail wags and my heart sparkles when I think about the fact that I was saved by the wonderful people at Adopt A Golden Atlanta. I am not only thankful to AGA for saving my life, but for also helping me find the perfect family; a family that truly loves me and has helped me overcome some issues and become the happy boy I am today. I wish I would have saved some birthday treats to share with the people at AGA but they were so tasty I couldn’t resist. Woof! Woof!

In other news, my birthday is next year on March 20…. Just kidding! The real news is that my boy Patrick, the most awesome human brother to ever walk the universe, made the UGA spring football team. Woof! I’m so happy. I guess you could say I’m a very proud DAWG!

Well, AGA -- I just wanted to fill ya’ll in on my birthday festivities and wanted to say – thank you, again!

Lots of wet kisses and happy barks,

Banjo

P.S.- I would like to thank my dad, Dan, for an awesome birthday party. “Dan, you’re the man… I mean – you rock, dad!”

Beezie Checks In

Dear AGA,

I am sure you all remember me. My name was Lolly. Now I go by Beezie. I spent the first few weeks in the program at GVS because I had parvo. While I was there I met a very wise old Golden named Henry. He was there fighting cancer and was really ready to get his wings. Henry had lived a very full life of almost 14 years being loved and cared for by his girl, Dominique. She was the only reason he decided to continue to fight. You see, Henry could not bear the thought of leaving his girl without a BFF. I listened as Henry told stories of all the adventures they had together over the years…going on walks and fun trips, to horseshows, school and cuddling every night! Henry even saved her life when she was 4 years old! He is so brave.
As I listened to the countless tales, I thought to myself, "How perfect! If only I had a girl of my very own to love!" Then Henry got an idea. Henry told me to fight to get better and he would arrange for me to go live with Dominique. He said I was much too young to get my wings and he was looking forward to a nice comfy cloud where he could watch me and the girl grow together. I promised him I would take good care of her and love her with all my heart. He closed his eyes, smiled and said "I know you will." Then the most magical thing happened, Instantly, Henry received the most spectacular set of golden wings and I felt all better!

Just as Henry had promised, I went to go live with Dominique. She is my very own girl! Dominique is teaching me all about being a BFF. We spend every minute we can together. Henry was right. Life is really worth fighting for when you have so many things to look forward to each and everyday. Every now and then Henry calls down from his cloud and gives me a few pointers. When he does the girl always says, "Sweet girl, Henry used to do that too!" She smiles and kisses me right on the tip of my nose. And when she does, Henry smiles down from heaven and whispers to me, "The girl always used to do that to me too!"

Truffles Moves to Pennsylvania and Becomes a Dutchess!

Here I am with my new Mom and Dad! They live in Pennsylvania, wherever that is. I understand it's to be a long ride home, but as long as I'm with these nice people I'll go anywhere! They have had other furry golden children all their life and they have a person son named Peter who, along with Elizabeth, do a lot of work for AGA. So, they decided to get their next gold child from Atlanta - and that's when I got lucky! They drove all the way here to get me!
I have a new name - Dutchess. Doesn't that sound so, well, regal? I like it a lot and plan to live up to it if you know what I mean.
I'll write back soon. Apparently I'm going to be going boating - anyone know what that is? It sounds like a blast! Wish me well!! I'll send pix.

Nutmeg Gets a Family!

I was adopted at AGA Adoption Day today!!! My new mom and dad are sooooooo nice and I know I am going to be so happy living with them. I am a 5 year old purebred female golden who AGA rescued from a Missouri puppy mill breeder. All my life my job was to have puppies, sometimes 3 litters a year. Whew! That was a lot of work. When AGA got me, they made sure I wouldn't have any more puppies and they fixed the inverted eye lash problem I had. I don't exactly know what that means but I know that my eyes don't water anymore.

I simply cannot believe that I will have my very own real, fluffy bed and toys and love. I can be kind of shy because I'm not used to all this love and attention, but I've got a good feeling about these people. I'm pretty sure they are going to be the BEST thing that ever happened in my life. And guess what? My new mom is head of a group called Happy Tails and she said I can be a therapy dog and help lots of people!!!

Thank you to AGA for saving me. And thank you to those who make donations to AGA. It's people like you who allow them to take care of my eyes and my spay.

A Get-Well Card for Rocky

You might not think an orphan dog with a bad leg would feel lucky, but I sure do!!! I was lucky to meet Adopt A Golden Atlanta and even more lucky that Katherine Hawkins fell in love with my picture. She has done so much to raise money for my operation (it costs $2000!!) - and she's only 8 years old!! Read about it on her aunt's blog http://o-my-goodness.livejournal.com/She gave her allowance, sold baked goods, went door to door, all for ME - wow! Maybe she'll even let me come live with her (hint, hint). Everyone has been so nice to be sure I get well and live a long, happy life. I just want to say thanks - to Katherine and to everyone. You can read my whole story here.http://www.adoptagoldenatlanta.com/
